David Guetta and Kid Cudi‘s 2009 smash hit “Memories” is now a veritable electronic classic, and one that helped to propel both Guetta and Cudi to new heights. A standout of Guetta’s fourth studio album, One Love, “Memories” isn’t the only Cudi collaboration that Guetta has in his sonic arsenal, as the 7 producer indicated in a recent interview with UK electronic music news source, JOE. As the collaboration nears its tenth anniversary, Guetta imparts, “I still have it, it’s good,” revealing a second, still unreleased Cudi record. “It’s actually really good,” Guetta added, “The other one is a performance [track]. It’s crazy because now I’m thinking with everything that’s going on right now in hip-hop that record is so current right now because it’s really like a punk rock record.”

Although Guetta appears to have his next hip-hop and electronic hybrid hit in the chamber, fans shouldn’t expect the song to gain a formal release anytime soon. “I would have to reproduce the record because it was ten years ago,” Guetta told JOE. “And it was impressive, I have to say, to see him create,” Guetta stated of Cudi’s in studio aptitude, “It was really, really good.” For now, it seems like the approriate time to dust this old bop off and have a listen for the first time in a while.
