Gorillaz return with new single, ‘Humility’

Damon Albarn went to Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 radio show to debut the new single “Humility,” set for release on the Gorillaz upcoming LP, The Now Now.

In a wide-ranging conversation, Albarn revealed to Lowe that the new album has a distinct lack of features compared to the group’s other works, with only “Humility’s” featured vocalist, the jazz and soul legend, George Benson, and Snoop Dogg slated for appearances on The Now Now, leaving the rest of the vocal heavy lifting to Albarn himself. Albarn also puts the kibosh on the rumors that he lost an entire Gorillaz LP by leaving his laptop in the back of a cab.

Wavy synths and a thorough backbeat make for a mellow, smooth tune. One that is likely a primer for the “summer record” Albarn has promised.
