Hackers obtain information of 64,000 after Tomorrowland data breachTomorrowland 4

A recent breach of Tomorrowland‘s attendee database exposed data on 64,000 ticket holders from the Boom, Belgium-based event’s 2014 iteration. As a Tomorrowland spokesperson conveyed to Flemish news source, De Standaard, Tomorrowland’s ticketer, Paylogic, contacted festival organizers when the 2014 system displayed unprovoked “unusual activity.” Paylogic promptly disconnected the database and reported the incident, while Tomorrowland reached out to those whose information was compromised via email.

Hackers are reportedly likely to have gathered the names, ages, postal codes, genders, and email addresses of the 64,000 in Tomorrowland’s 2014 database, but did not obtain personal payment information, passwords, or physical addresses. Only Tomorrowland’s 2014 goers were affected by the breach. Tomorrowland personnel ask those who did receive an email notification of data disclosure to be wary of potential and ensuing phishing attacks, and to ensure that all electronic correspondence comes from Tomorrowland.com.
