One of R&B’s smoothest crooners, The Weeknd will soon expand his sensual catalogue with the release of a new album, a project that has re-attracted the “Die For You” vocalist back to the studio. “I want you guys to be the first to know that I’m working on my new album right now,” The Weeknd informed audience members of a recent show hosted in partnership with Hxouse. Entitled Chapter VI, the longform outing will be The Weekend’s first full-length studio album since 2016’s Starboy.

The Weeknd further drummed up anticipation for an ensuing album on Twitter, where he confirmed Chapter VI’s existence and impending arrival with his tweet “some chapters are smaller than others. not this next one though…” September 2018 marked the fifth anniversary of The Weeknd’s debut studio offering, Kiss Land. The artist commemorated the album’s birthday with limited edition merch. The Weeknd has progressively reinterpreted R&B sound, to deliver fresh and idiosyncratic stylings with each successive album release, from Kiss Land, to Starboy, to 2018’s My Dear Melancholy EP. Although the specifics of Chapter VI’s sonic aesthetic remain yet to be heard, the product will undoubtedly arrived as a highly polished product that spotlights the purity of The Weeknd’s inimitable vocals.
