A 27 year-old male lost his life at the Bonnaroo campgrounds over the weekend, according to festival organizers. The annual Tennessee gathering had begun earlier in the week on June 13, and reports of the death began circulating on June 15.
The victim had been unresponsive at his camp by the time medics had been called over, according to reports, and was later pronounced dead upon his arrival to the hospital. Organizers had also advised the media that the victim had an underlying medical condition that was implied as being the main cause behind the passing. Bonnaroo spokeswoman Ann Ewing had no commentary to offer the media when they reached out for more information but offered this statement instead:
“The well-being of our patrons, staff, volunteers and artists is our primary concern, and we work diligently to ensure the safest festival possible. Earlier today, our medical team in Plaza 11 was asked to respond to a medical situation in a nearby campsite. The Bonnaroo Medical team and Coffee County Emergency Services were on the scene within minutes.”
