Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was among the 66 arrested at this year’s EDC Las Vegas back in May after he pushed a security guard during a physical altercation. Police documents show the guard Kyle Johnson and his father Kelly Johnson emailed Elliott’s attorneys demanding a list of at least 14 things from Elliott to stay quiet about the incident, including $500,000 in cash.
The long list of demands included a public apology from the running back, a press conference with Elliott and Kyle Johnson, $25,000 for the junior college football team Johnson played for, and signed jerseys from Elliott, and teammates Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott. Other demands listed tickets to Cowboys games (both home and road), Ohio State games, and a meet and greet with Jerry Jones and his son.
The police reports also show that during a phone call between Elliott’s attorneys and the ender Johnson that the attorneys told Kelly Johnson, “what [he] was doing was extortion.”
In the report, security guard Kyle Johnson also admits that Elliott apologized, gave him a hug, and took a picture with him. Similarly, Elliott said, “We gave each other a hug and he asked me to take a picture with him, which I was happy to do as there was never any intention to harm or hurt Kyle.”
