Mija and JR Slayer explore humanity on new sultry track ‘Stay a Little Longer’Mija Just Enough Ep

Los Angeles-based producer and DJ Mija continues to push her eclectic genre-defying sound with her latest collaboration “Stay a Little Longer”, a track written and produced with JR Slayer. Even her collaboration choice of JR Slayer —former post-hardcore The Blood Brothers member and current Head Wound City guitarist— speaks to her refusal to be boxed. The track has been released ahead of her upcoming US tour.

Similar to her 2018 EP Just Enough, “Stay A Little Longer” takes a seemingly minimalistic beat to complex heights with enchanting woodwinds, glitchy effects and maximum distortion. Mija’s voice floats hauntingly in a juxtaposition of calm agony, drawing its intensity from the silence pervasive throughout the track.

Mija says, “‘Stay A Little Longer’ illustrates three human characteristics: Selfishness, Validity, and Loneliness. It is the feeling of wanting something from somebody else. The feeling of not being present and seeking outward validation. And the loneliness that consumes your late night thoughts, once they’ve left.” Proving herself once again as an artist with creative prowess, Mija delivers another experimental mix of dark beauty in “Stay a Little Longer”.
