Will Sparks issues apology following verbal assault incident at Ultra AustraliaWill Sparks Press Shot

Melbourne bounce pioneer Will Sparks has landed himself in hot water following what he’s defined as an “alcohol-fueled” incident with an Assistant Tour Manager at Ultra’s debut in Australia. According to the victim, who asked to remain anonymous, she’d been subject to violent verbal assault from Sparks after trying to do her job clearing out his artist trailer. According to her statement, her attempts to clean up ended “by [Will Sparks] calling me a stupid cunt and bitch.’” He later stirred fear by continued assault and eventually, punching a nearby door.

Following that YourEDM report of the incident published after corresponding with the Assistant, Sparks reached out to the outlet with an apology:

“I cannot express how regretful and apologetic I am regarding the incident that unfolded in Sydney on Feb 24. I was aggressive and said some unforgiving remarks that made no sense at all and were simply not true. At no point was I ever physical with any of the male or female staff. This is is completely out of character for me. Never in my life have I reacted in such a way, I am very embarrassed by my actions.

Unfortunately this was alcohol fuelled, which is no excuse. I had some built up personal frustrations which all came out at once, at an innocent individual who was just doing their job.

This is a massive learning curve for me. I embarrassed not only myself, but my whole team as well which I hate myself for.

I’m taking full responsibility for my actions and am willing to do what it takes to mend the situation as best I can.

I have also issued my apology to the person affected.”

This isn’t the first report of misconduct by Sparks. Other social media messages began popping up following the controversy, with an eerily similar story coming from the Visualbass account in Canada. Screencaps of their account can be viewed here. Word remains as to what actions Sparks plans on taking to help himself, and amend past situations of misconduct.
