As some took to the streets of their respective cities to participate in protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Ty Dolla $ign, Skrillex, Virtual Riot, Ant Clemons, and Nia Miranda took to the studio to support the Black Lives Matter movement via music, specifically a new song titled “You See It.” On the unreleased record, Ty Dolla $ign lyrically calls attention to recent events, singing, “I know you see it/My people dying in the streets/they ain’t breathing/I know you heard about it/You know the issues, but/the problems you ain’t speaking/How many more of my brothers/Do I gotta lose till I see change?

here are many ways to stand up. I’m going out today to be with the people, clean up the city, show support however I can. But most importantly we really need to listen to the message and not get it conflated with the violence. That can’t be the focus. But in the mean time here’s what we did last night to hopefully ease your timeline .🖤@tydollasign @antclemons@officialvirtualriot @nia_miranda #YouSeeIt

Dolla’s vocals intermingle with sung contributions from Clemons, who assists throughout the collaboration, and Miranda, an actress and activist who participated in California-based protests during the weekend of May 29. Miranda enters the effort at the end of the one minute snippet debuted on Ty Dolla $ign’s and Skrillex’s Instagram accounts: “when you see stuff like that, you supposed to stand up and say something,” she says.

Rip #georgefloyd and all the others that lost there life to police brutality and injustice. Shits been happening for far too long now . It’s time for change and we demand it ! @skrillex @antclemons@officialvirtualriot @nia_miranda and I made this last night hope u enjoy!
