Miss Nine was born in Germany as Kristin Schrot and at the age of 16, she started her career – not as a DJ, but as a model. Shortly after, she secured a worldwide contract with Elite Model Management. After meeting her boyfriend, a DJ, she moved to Amsterdam and while living there, she started experimenting with her boyfriend’s turntables. She discovered her passion for music and decided to become a DJ as well.

A few months after touching the decks for the first time, she became a resident DJ at the legendary Motion parties in 2003. She evolved as an artist and DJ while playing alongside masters such as John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, and James Zabiela.

She also made an appearance as the youngest artist at the 10th edition of Dance Valley in 2003. At the end of 2005, Miss Nine was asked by Grammy Award winning DJ duo Deep Dish to join Bullitt Bookings, the reputable agency of A-list DJs. This move allowed Miss Nine to enter the forefront of the international DJ scene for the first time.

Miss Nine started her own record label in 2008: 925 Music. After spending some years in the dance scene, she realized there were many great progressive-house tracks that didn’t get the release and the attention they deserved. In order to do something about this, Miss Nine started 925 Digital to bring progressive-house, and the artists behind it, to prominence.

Miss Nine was the first female DJ to mix a compilation for Washington-based Yoshitoshi Recordings, the world-renowned leader in progressive and big-room house music. The highly anticipated Yoshitoshi Ibiza: Mixed by Miss Nine (YRCDLP15) was released in September 2006. Miss Nine is currently busy mixing a second album for Yoshitoshi Recordings. Miss Nine also released an album on the world famous Armada label: Dancefloor Sessions (ARMA134) in June 2008. Furthermore, in 2010 she released a new album: Fantasia, which is only available for purchase in Asia.

In 2010, Miss Nine became the ambassador of the revolutionary Levi’s® Curve ID line. To highlight this new line, she mixed the compilation album Levi’s® Curve ID. Besides spinning at many events, which are actively being promoted in Europe and Asia, she also hosted Levi’s® presents Miss Nine in the Supperclub during the Amsterdam Dance Event 2010.

Miss Nine is also the face of Pioneer for the new CDJ-350 en DJM-350, turntables that are meant for starting DJs. As part of an Europe-wide promotional campaign, video clips in which Miss Nine is demonstrating these turntables are being televised on MTV.
