The trio of Jauz, YOOKiE, and josh pan make for a fascinating group on the surface, and their collaborative effort, “Dinner Chat” lives up to the intrigue. A diverse affair, “Dinner Chat” sees each producer stretch outside of their comfort zone while at the same time maintaining their signature styles.
A simple, whistled melody opens the track before a chopped vocal hook grabs the listener. A breakbeat build up — complete with 90s-inspired synth stabs — culminates in a rolling, experimental, moombahton-tinged drop. A second drop sees the triumvirate throw a curveball, with a half-time section more inclined to grooves than headbanging.
Released on Jauz’s label, Bite This, “Dinner Chat” is a fine example of three talented artists playing off each other to craft a unique track that is sure to stick out in a crowded market.
