“It’s been some time folks,” says Australian DJ/Producer Just A Gent in the SoundCloud description of his latest release “GROVE ST.” The quote — one can assume — is in reference to his lack of remixes as of late, in favor of generating a substantial amount of buzz on his latest original “Space Odyssey” featuring Thandi Phoenix.
The producer targets Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas theme song this time, paying homage to the fan-favorite video game, with its violent, yet wildly entertaining antics that were able to jump-start the franchise. Gent kicks it off with the low quality, gangster-esque original theme, sampling a screaming mob-boss before dropping the edit in head-bobbing-worthy fashion, including heavy dub and hard-hitting trap vibes.
Gent is coming off “Just A Tour 2018,” performing at top venues all across his home country with more dates to come.
