There’s an exciting new collab project in the drum & bass world dubbed Circuits, a duo comprised of English producers InsideInfo and Kasra. Both are known individually for their intricate, heady approach to the genre, and with this new project, they push the boundaries further to explore a new, wholly minimal, yet strikingly heavy form of musical expression. “Coming Through” is the title track from Circuits’ debut EP, set for release on April 13, via Kasra’s Critical Music imprint.
To listen to “Coming Through” is a lesson in the power of combining intricate rhythms, unique bass line, expansive atmosphere, well placed synth pads, and restraint — the latter a rare ingredient that gives the whole production its minimal feel, while still having so much going on, quietly, in the background. Every time one listens to the track, one notices something new.
The Coming Through EP is expected to be the first of several releases for the new collaborators in 2018, so keep an eye out for more from this truly dynamic duo.
Circuits’ debut show is slated for London’s iconic Fabric nightclub April 27.
