Splice to merge with Indaba Music

Splice is a music technology company that is evolving the way musicians create and collaborate. Splice has acquired a major online music community: Indaba Music. The acquisition advances Splice’s aim to build the definitive online platform for musicians. Nonetheless, the exact terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

As part of the acquisition, Indaba’s Founder Dan Zaccagnino, and CEO JJ Rosen, will also be joining Splice’s executive team. Additionally, he will bring eight members of his team to Splice. He will become Head of Content at Splice. In this role, Zaccagnino will now be responsible for content strategy. Rosen will now serve as the Executive Vice President of Music Strategy & Industry Relations. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President of Sony Music Entertainment’s Commercial Music Group before becoming CEO of Indaba in 2012. Presently, in his new role, Rosen will be responsible for developing relationships and partnerships with external music companies. Additionally, he will oversee Splice’s partnerships with established and emerging artists.

Previously, Indaba Music has been a longtime leader in the music space. This is because they have provided their community with many opportunities to create, collaborate, and gain exposure.
