A 15-year-old girl died while working at Louisville, Kentucky rock festival, Louder Than Life. After working as a barbecue vendor at the event earlier in the day, Trinity Jackson died upon suffering sudden breathing fits on the evening of September 28. She suffered from asthma, according to her mother, Brandi Moorman.

“I saw her take her last gasp of air, in my arms, on the ground of the Fair and Expo Center,” Moorman said.

Though Moorman says her daughter received care at the festival’s medical tent after the respiratory difficulties began, she continued wheezing until she stopped breathing altogether.

“I was carrying my daughter through the crowd while Guns N’ Roses was playing,” Moorman says. “I was just running as fast as I could to get through the crowd. I needed to get out [of] the gate. I needed help.”

Jackson was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital in an ambulance, where she was pronounced dead. Doctors told Moorman that Jackson’s heart had stopped 36 minutes prior to her arrival at the hospital. The Louisville Metro Police Department’s homicide unit is currently investigating Jackson’s death. Official autopsy results have not been released.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, whose privacy we wish to respect,” a representative of the festival told Louisville news outlet, WLKY. “We are cooperating with local agencies as they conduct an investigation related to a medical transport from the festival on Saturday night.”
