After announcing his fourth studio album, Ventura, and an accompanying tour at the end of February, Anderson .Paak is gearing up for a big start to 2019. Now, dropping the first material from his upcoming LP, .Paak has shared his funky new track, “King James.”
A tribute to basketball icon LeBron James, the song highlights James’ charity work along with a variety of social issues and current events. Sonically, shimmering textures and thick bassline showcase .Paak and Dr. Dre‘s ability to blend funky sounds with a modern, soulful twist. With production from Dr. Dre on the entire project and features from Andrè 3000, Smokey Robinson, and more, Ventura is slated to be the quick-paced follow-up to Oxnard that cements .Paak as a true powerhouse artist.
