A classic summer jam gets a 2019 makeover from newcomer Drew North and vocalist Veronica. Not many producers would dare take on Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” but that’s just what Drew North did on his debut. It’s a bold move for the Canadian newcomer but it turns out it was a risk worth taking. He might be a stranger to Spotify, but Drew is no stranger to the production studio and he flexes that experience on his debut release. The cover re-imagines the sing-a-long anthem and breathes new life into the Boss’s source material. The sentiment is the same, but it’s distinctly and delightfully different when Veronica spins it into a moody and brooding revival of a timeless hit.
