Lane 8 and POLIÇA reconvene on languorous new number, ‘Brightest Lights’Lane 8 George Fitzgerald Burns Remies

With her vaporous alto vocals, POLIÇA blows a breathy vocal lifeblood into Lane 8‘s latest one-track endeavor, “Brightest Lights.” Avid Lane 8 listeners are acquainted with the delicate fluidity of POLIÇA’s voice, with the singer having lent her vocal talents to 2017’s “No Captain,” a single that drove Lane 8’s prevalence in masterful melodic dance circles that year.

As with “No Captain,” POLIÇA’s contribution strikes a temperate balance with the subtle, minimalist beauty of the record’s arrangement. “Brightest Lights” is mellow and clean in its tone; it pours forth at the viscous, unencumbered pace classic of a Lane 8 production as it simultaneously beckons towards an indie-electronic aural approach. With “Brightest Lights,” Lane 8 offers streamers two listening options: the near seven-minute original and a comparatively abridged edit.

“Brightest Lights” is the eponymous first offering from Lane 8’s next album, slated to release via This Never Happened on January 10, 2020. The project is flanked by an international, tour of the same name, which will kick off in Boston January 31. Tickets will go on sale on September 27 at 10 am local time, and can be purchased here.
