The Prodigy cancel upcoming shows in light of Keith Flint’s deathKeith Flint

The Prodigy frontman and founding member Keith Flint passed away earlier this week, March 4, much to the shock of the global music community. Co-founder and fellow member Liam Howlett confirmed that the 49 year old vocalist took his own life. In the days leading up to his death, close friends remembered Flint as “positive and proud” and seemingly doing well.

Following the death of Flint, The Prodigy confirmed cancellation of all forthcoming shows “with immediate effect” on March 5 via Twitter. The band released their seventh studio album No Tourists in November 2018 and announced supporting tour dates including a North American tour as well as festival appearances. They were booked to play at this year at Glastonbury Festival where they previously made history as the first dance band to headline in 1997. Their U.S. tour would have been their first headline tour in 10 years.

The Prodigy brought underground British dance music to the masses and widely impacted the rave scene with their controversial and outlandish electronic style. Flint notoriously broke barriers with his punk demeanor and rebellious energy. Fans and artists alike took to social media to pay their tribute to the music star, a timely icon who inspired and gave countless individuals their first taste of dance music.
