Kanye West released the highly anticipated Jesus Is King project on Oct. 25 and performed the track “Closed on Sunday” as a pre-recorded performance at the Oculus in Manhattan for Jimmy Kimmel Live! This was Ye’s second appearance in the late-night talk show, promoting the album on Oct. 24 as well, before the actual release.
West was accompanied by his Sunday Service choir, adding a live instrument spin encompassed by a beautiful open space to the produced track. The community feel and build take on a new era of Kanye, as the Chicago rapper continues his life journey through fatherhood and gospel-focused music.
The full-length project features collaborations from the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Clipse, Kenny G, Timbaland, Pi’erre Bourne, CyHi the Prynce, Mike Dean, and many other talented songwriters and producers.
