After her remotely-written collaboration with phem in April, “WWCBD?,” short for “What Would Carole Baskin Do?,” Alison Wonderland is back with a highly impactful single. Arriving with an accompanying music video, “Bad Things” is Wonderland’s first solo release since 2019’s “Peace” and its following acoustic iteration.

The Australian star producer says that “Bad Things” is about “confronting your demons and dealing with them,” a theme apparent throughout her dramatic and sharply-hued music video. “Bad Things” opens with emotive lyricism from Wonderland and a close-up shot before the work expands into a dramatic saw-synth build culminating in a heavy break befit for her 2018 LP Awake.

About a month ago, Alison Wonderland launched her personal YouTube series, “How to DJ For Beginners.” She also recently starred in Underplayed, a documentary highlighting gender-based discrimination in electronic music. Underplayed debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 19, and so far has garnered positive critical reviews.
