Piloted Events Will Return To The Netherlands In January Of 2021

The Netherlands is expecting to organize and conduct a concert, a dance event, and two open-air festivals in January of 2021 upon government approval. Fieldlab Events (a government-supported initiative ) has been working with local event companies to help prevent the increasing number of profits the live events industry has lost so far in 2020. Netherland’s government (alongside the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) has agreed to look into Fieldlab’s plan for hosting piloted events. Fieldlab Events feels very confident about the return of both piloted and live events come 2021 and in a statement to the press, the chairman of Fieldlab Events (Marcel Elbertse) disclosed that,

“This is confirmation of the fact that we have presented a solid plan of action. It shows the government’s guts that they are now giving us permission to organize the pilot events. We have always emphasized that these can take place safely and are essential for the entire industry.”

In order for these events to occur, there needs to be a few specific measures that are met. All guests must have a negative Covid test and completion of health declaration forms at least 24 hours prior to the event. In addition, guests will have their temperature checked upon arrival in order to ensure the safety of everyone who attends. All guests are required to avoid contact with other groups for two weeks after the shows…

It will be interesting to see what the Netherlands government decides to do in this situation, but it is very promising to see their willingness to work alongside live event companies in order to help increase the possibility of live events returning next summer.
