EDM premier, Alesso, took to Twitter today to share a clip of a new collaboration with Marshmello and James Bay entitled “Chasing Stars”. Listen to the snippet below before the release this Friday, August 20.
As with many snippets of this nature, the twenty seconds of audio consist of the moments building up to the drop. Sonically, the section is within the expected realm of the trio. Pop heavy with acoustic guitars driving the melody forward.
The slower tempo indicates a feel aligned with uplifting future bass of Marshmello fame rather than the steaming EDM house for which Alesso is known, but all three collaborators have demonstrated a wide range of versatility over their careers. However the track ends up sounding, it will satisfy festival crowds for years to come.
