Make love to the metronome.

With this pitched-down vocal hook, Friendless and Kyle Kinch pay homage to a musical staple that provides the namesake for their first outing—the “Metronome.” The shuffling house hitter allows its hook to loop, galvanizing fancy footwork as the Australian and American tastemakers help HUGS realize its second-ever release. The electronic music imprint, based out of Sydney, Australia and Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, is a newcomer to the label game that formally dispensed its first production—Bruno Furlan‘s “You Make Me Feel Hot“—in early June. Founded by Jeff Drake, the former Director of Recordings for Ministry of Sound Australia (2007-2017) and Stacey Butler and Mitchell Bennett, both of Relish PR Factory, HUGS has pledged its allegiance to sweltering house statements across its two outputs to date, with Friendless and Kinch following Furlan’s HUGS opener in formidable fashion.

“Metronome” directly succeeds Kinch’s “Rumpshaker,” released on July 30, and Friendless’ “Push It.”
