Hot on the heels of “The Odyssey” and “Mind Games,” respectively, HNTR‘s new four-track EP Mind Games arrives as his second extended release under the alias. The HNTR moniker, which follows the success of his formerly forged Hunter Siegel project, reflects his pivot to underground techno sonics that support his vocal-driven records. Mind Games transcends the physical plane, bolstered by its hypnotic, digitized soundscapes.
The Toronto-based techno innovator released the EP on his self-curated label, “No Neon.” Launched in 2019, No Neon began as a force in the Toronto dance music scene, having booked current spearheads like REZZ and Joyryde before their claims to fame. HNTR released his debut EP, I Might Forgive I Dont Forget, under the label in 2020. The project won the attention of deadmau5 and even earned HNTR opening duties for a pair of Zimmerman’s shows.
Alongside the EP will come the HNTR x No Neon Genesis Collection, dropping March 31 via Blockparty. The NFT collection will feature visuals from No Neon’s Art Director Pray First, accompanied by two Mind Games inclusions, the dystopian title track and “The Odyssey.”
