Houston Trio Voyce Memos Deliver Sophomore Album

Voyce Memos - Chronology

Thrilling us with their second studio album this week is the three-piece indie-electronic band Voyce Memos. They have spent the past year or so constructing the eleven tracks that make up Chronology, which is a follow up to their previous LP Catching Me In Stride.

Two singles from the collection have already been released in the form of the lightly grooving ‘Meticulous,’ complete with stunning ballet-focused official video and ‘West Girl,’ which captures a classic Cali-influenced sound and is a summer soundtrack with dynamic riffs and a strong lead vocal from Richard Borger.

Explaining how Chronology came to life, Voyce Memos shares: (The album) navigates its way through the past, present and future, both in soundscape and subject matter. Voyce Memos is harping on a major recurring theme throughout, the notion of “self-preservation,” not necessarily in a pure survival frame of mind, but in the sense of leaving a significant mark on history, how to do that, the struggles associated with it, and what it actually means from an ego perspective. From that, the band pushes forward into new territory, “setting its clocks for tomorrow,” as a song title leads on, and paves the way of becoming a “band of the future.”
