Ibiza Clubs Will Reopen Next Month!

Per an announcement from the government of the Balearic Islands, clubs across Ibiza will be able to reopen on Friday, October 8. Some stipulations that will be attached to the reopening are masks being required on the dance floor and attendees being required to consume drinks while sitting.

Clubs will operate at 75 percent capacity and remain open until 5AM. This is far closer to the traditional party culture for which Ibiza is known, where parties run for days at a time.

“The Balearic Islands are practically back to normal, with a very important flexibility of measures, but the distance between people and the use of a mask, as well as ventilation, is maintained,” said a representative of the Balearic government.

The ease of restrictions comes after the approval of COVID certificates to gain entry to clubs. Similar strictures have been implemented in other European countries like The Netherlands where the government issued a corona pass. These passes indicate whether the holder is fully vaccinated, recently recovered from COVID-19, or has received a negative test within 24 hours.
