Each night, 100 doses will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis
Starting this week, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is expected to double its capacity size from 2,800 to 6,300 and will now be giving out COVID-19 shots to attendees. Although the venue is not at its full capacity of 9,500 persons, the venue has made tremendous strides in recent weeks to bring itself back to its pre-pandemic state. The implementation of Red Rocks’ COVID-19 shots began this past weekend on Friday, May 19, and is supported by the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment and Safety.
The program is called, ‘a shot, a pop, a shirt, and a show’ which entails a free Johnson and Johnson single-shot vaccine, free t-shirt, and a voucher for the concession stand as long as proof of vaccination is shown. Currently, the program is set up to accommodate 100 doses per night, without needing to schedule an appointment.
There is no end date for the program, however, the plan according to Denver CBS is to, “continue the program and keep tweaking it so more young people can get vaccinated.” Red Rocks will make announcements every Monday from here on out informing attendees when they can get a vaccine.
