It’s been a long wait since one of 2019’s most striking tunes, ‘Signals’. Shoeba made it together with Belgian DJ/producer Todiefor and superstar rapper Roméo Elvis, reaching high on the charts and playlists, thanks to its playful grooves and quirky sound that not only reached the dance audience, but struck a chord with the mainstream audience as well. By now, ‘Signals’ counts over 14 million Spotify streams, while the music video has also been watched more than 5,5 million times already.
Since then, Shoeba kept its profile as mysterious as always. Working on projects behind the scenes, the much anticipated follow-up to ‘Signals’ didn’t take shape as quick as the audience might want to. Well, the answer is finally here. As we’re fresh into 2021, the Romanian duo delivers its strong new single ‘Anyway’. Again, the guys build momentum with sweet, headstrong beats, inventive drum programming against warm organ chords and tasty percussion. As the vocals of Belgian singer MATTN (one of electronic music’s most promising artists thanks to a series of striking dance hits) take hold, the record evolves into a lively chorus, making it a completely unique pop tune with its use of various beats, feelgood chords and addictive grooves.
