Over the next six months, New Jersey’s own SM1LO will spread a swell of new music across streaming platforms to further their sonic footprint in the dance-pop space. This pledge to push more fresh material to listeners’ speakers kicks off with “About You,” a vocally driven electro-pop record that packages hook, melody, rhythm and bass in an effervescent earworm. It’s a spry pickup of SM1LO’s sonic activity that provides an awaited answer their last release, November 2020’s “Bentley Coupe.” With a Feenixpawl remix of “About You” ready and waiting patiently in the wings, alongside a stockpile of singles featuring high-impact vocalists such as MKLA and Lena Leon, SM1LO are sending a smoke signal that will culminate in some irrefutable firepower as the year forges forth.
