REZZ And Subtronics Drop Their Titanic Collaboration, “Puzzle Box”

When REZZ and Subtronics confirmed they made a track together via a series of tweets, the internet rightfully went ballistic. These are two of the most original and forward-thinking artists in bass music right now if not electronic music as a whole. So there is no telling what a collaboration between the two of them would sound like, and what boundaries it would push (and/or discard completely).

Well now the track is here, and it’s entitled “Puzzle Box.”

Whatever expectations anyone had for this track were inconsequential. Subtronics and REZZ make the music they want. To say it would be dubstep because of Subtronics or trippy bass because of REZZ would be a disservice to its unique quality.

Among the distorted low-end synths and airtight drum patterns, is a sense of wonder and playfulness. It’s a feeling that comes when two people love what they do and what they do is create sounds that defy the laws of nature.

Also because the two are pure class acts, they have designed a t-shirt that features the single’s artwork, and all proceeds from selling the shirt will go towards helping the people of Ukraine.
