Genre-bending producer Whethan has returned for his first single of 2022 in collaboration with Slump6s and glaive, “Mental.” The year-opening number makes streamers’ minds wander by effortlessly weaving electronic synths over heavy, room-filling drums. The hyperpop/electronic single is accompanied by a trippy and futuristic music video that enhances the “Mental” experience.
Unbeknownst to many, this is Whethan’s second production credit for 2022; the 22-year old co-produced “High” with The Chainsmokers, which materialized in late January as the debut single from the latter’s forthcoming fourth studio album. Following Whethan’s last single of 2021, “Think You Right,” “Mental” continues the anticipation for Whethan’s next great project. Take a peak at the kaleidoscopic visuals for “Mental” below.
