It seems Nicky Romero has live performance in mind with his newest release under his Monocule alias, “Awakening” featuring Sarah de Warren. The moody new track features a fusion of techno elements and commanding house tropes that waste no time in coming together to pack an electrifying punch. De Warren’s vocals provide the listener with a slight reprieve until the build returns and the track crescendos into a propulsive drop.
“Awakening” is Romero’s eighth release as Monocule less than a year after the project’s launch, showing how dedicated he is to a steady output with his new creative direction. “Awakening” is out now via Romero’s own Protocol Recordings.
